A MixingGPT alternative that works from your bounce and your project
MixingGPT puts a mix critic inside your DAW as a plugin. TrackSensei runs in your browser: you bring a bounce, and in Ableton your project file, and get scores for your subgenre plus a mentor to talk it through. Two different workflows, compared as of October 2026.

What MixingGPT does well
The plugin is the point. MixingGPT sits in your session in most major DAWs, so you can ask for a critique without bouncing, uploading and switching windows. Its written critique is well structured: a summary, a scorecard, prioritized fixes, notes per section and translation checks, plus "Leave Alone" and "Taste Options" sections. Besides audio and stems, it also accepts screenshots of your plugins. You can chat about the result, it comes with vocal-chain presets, and paid plans add web search. Its pricing page says access is still rolling out, so check availability before you plan around it.
A plugin or the project file
Both tools try to get past the stereo file, in different ways. MixingGPT works from inside your DAW, with audio, stems and plugin screenshots. TrackSensei reads your Ableton .als in one go: every track, device chain, MIDI clip and note, send and automation lane in the session. That is what lets a note say "the pad on channel 7 masks the lead from the second drop", and what lets the chat mentor answer "which channel is causing the mud" about your actual channels. Every other DAW works too, through the bounce: the scores, genre targets, reference comparison, every issue and the chat run on the audio alone, and the .als adds the project layer on top. Nothing is installed in your DAW, and the audio analysis runs in your browser, so the raw file never leaves your machine.
Targets for your subgenre, priced per track
TrackSensei scores mix balance, dynamics and groove from 0 to 100 against 71 subgenre profiles in 12 main genres, because a hard techno kick and a deep house kick are not mixed to the same target. Techno and house targets come straight from 563 released tracks, published with the methodology in our data study; the other genres are built from in-depth genre research and get sharper as more tracks come in. Pricing also works differently. MixingGPT meters audio by the minute, so an eight-minute techno track costs more than a three-minute edit. On TrackSensei the free plan counts analyses (2 a month), and a Release Check is one payment of €5.95 for one track, with 20 mentor chat messages, one extra version with the compare view and the PDF report, whatever the length of the track.
How to choose
If you want feedback without leaving your DAW, work in Logic, FL Studio or another DAW whose project file TrackSensei cannot read anyway, MixingGPT fits that workflow. If you make electronic music in Ableton, want your mix measured against your subgenre, and want a mentor that knows the whole session, that is what TrackSensei is built for. The free plan gives you a full diagnosis: scores, reference deltas and every issue we found, so you can compare the two on the same track. The rest of the field is in our comparison of AI mix feedback tools.
