A MixMaster AI alternative built for electronic music

MixMaster AI is a toolbox: a mix score and an AI mentor, with mastering, stem splitting and more in the same subscription. TrackSensei does one job, feedback on your production, and goes deep on it for your subgenre and your project. Here is how they compare, as of October 2026.

What MixMaster AI does well

MixMaster AI gets prioritization right. Next to its Mix Score and to-do list it names "one fix to make next", which is the question most producers actually have after a report. Maya, its AI mentor, talks with a voice and has a memory on Pro and up, versions and a reference library let you track progress, and the visual EQ, DAW tips and PDF export make the result easy to work from. For engineers with clients there are client revisions and team plans up to 800 analyses a month. It is also a full toolbox: stem splitting, mastering, karaoke, restoration and song generation come with the same account. It claims more than 40,000 engineers and 500,000 mixes, and at $14 a month for 60 analyses the Pro plan is cheap per mix.

A specialist next to a toolbox

MixMaster AI does not list a genre specialism. In electronic music that matters more than anywhere else: a hard techno master sits at a loudness and low-end weight that would be a mistake in deep house. TrackSensei scores mix balance, dynamics and groove from 0 to 100 against 71 subgenre profiles in 12 main genres. Techno and house targets come straight from 563 released tracks, published with the methodology in our data study; the other genres are built from in-depth genre research and get sharper as more tracks come in. The trade-off is plain: TrackSensei does not master your track, split stems or generate songs. If you want those, you need another tool next to it. What you get instead is feedback tuned to the style you make.

What the project file adds

A stereo mix tells a tool what your track sounds like, not how it was built. TrackSensei works with a bounce from any DAW, and in Ableton it also reads your .als: every track, device chain, MIDI clip and note, send and automation lane. That is what lets a note say "the pad on channel 7 masks the lead from the second drop" instead of "watch your midrange", and what lets the chat mentor answer "which channel is causing the mud" about your actual channels. Upload the next version and the compare view shows the score change and which issues are resolved, new or still open. Upload your stems (kick, sub, bass, drums, leads, pads, vocals, FX) and Stem Interaction Analysis shows how they fit together (Ultimate, with one free try on every plan). The audio analysis runs in your browser, so the raw file never leaves your machine.

How to choose

If you want one subscription that covers analysis, mastering and stem splitting, or you run mixes for clients and need revisions and team seats, MixMaster AI covers more ground than we do. If you make electronic music and want feedback measured against your subgenre, analysis that reaches into your Ableton project, and a mentor to work through the fixes with, that is what TrackSensei is built for. The free plan gives you a full diagnosis: scores, reference deltas and every issue we found, and a Release Check unlocks the full report for one track for €5.95 without a subscription. The rest of the field is in our comparison of AI mix feedback tools.
